One of the reason I Love Penang because I like something antique and I simply find it here!

Mews Cafe! One of the herritage concept cafe in Penang town. It's a haven place for relaxation which hide in Munti Street. Actually it's a cafe of a boutique hotel but I gotta say that I am attracted by it's environment and the design.

I had forgotten the name =.='' but it's something about duckling and creamy sauce.

Sadly to say that this cafe doesn't offer varied of food as others but there's definitely something for everyone. I heard my friend said that it's kinda famous with it's Nyonya food. And the food that I ordered is surprising me as it taste good!

Behind 50

Penang is just like a wine, the older it is, the more beautiful it is...Lately Penang Island is growing with small cafe business especially in Muntri Lane area.

50 Behind, this cool looking cafe get my attention successfully. It's rather to be unique as not that much cafe has this kind of concept yet and I can say this is a great place to have a drink with friends.

I found lots of retro decoration in this small little cafe and the combination with all these things together create a good effect of interior design.

Food and drinks come with the reasonable price as well =)

Surprised that found some of my photographer friends' photos. Some people are born with passion of art and they are definitely one of them.

The environment is kinda quite, very nice to chill up with friends over here.

Fall in love with this handmade Spoon Light! It's so creative yet so beautiful.

I found out it's so interesting about the menu as it comes inside story book. I can see the owner of this cafe had put so much effort to make this out.

No joke man.... this old record player is still functioning well and I enjoyed my Elvis Presley music played by this thinggy on that night so much. Although it is not as good as the super good qualoty hi-fi system but there's definitely something special about this player.

We can select songs that we love and play it ourself...

Something Hide In The KL City ~ Hennessy Lor Mee & 月光河

This is something impressed me, it changes my point of view towards the KL city. All these while I thought that KL will only serve good food in nice restaurant or cafe and I'm wrong! There's much more good food hide in this city, and this is one of my favourite food in KL.... THE HENNESSY LOR MEE!

I can still remember the taste and smell of this mee. I can smell the Hennessy before they serve the mee to our table. Mee with soup and Hennessy are blend too well together. Trust me, you gotta try this when you are in KL.

This shop is located at somewhere called Air Panas in the City. It's kinda hard to get to there because it's in a kampung area a

dn you gotta get through few small road, then you will only reach. They serve good and cheap food. I've been visited there twice and it's always full of people.

Overall, all the food over there never disappointed me. This is another great food can be found at the same stall, 月光河!!!

Highly recommended the chili sauce from them. I am not a chili lover but I had fall in love with their chili sauce. I can even eat it just like eating snack, without mixing with any food or mee! >< For your information, you have to request for their 'special-made' chilies. If not, most of the time they will never serve you this. It's something 'limited edititon' to them... haha... perhaps...

The Tempting Crispy Roasted Pork

The best pork I think I can hunt is one which is located at off Jalan Pudu, behind the Shaw Parade, called Meng Kee Roast Pork.

This is the one of Danny crave for it where it's super crispy skin with well balance fats and lean meat in between. Once we put it into our mouth, the fats just melts in mouth. Not too salty and the taste is just nice! Very good!!!

It comes to expensive price to enjoy this fantastic roasted pork in this shop. It cost RM40 just for the portion of 2 people. Seriously it's not cheap but still got many people crave for it.

Beside the shop in Off Jalan Pudu, there's another great roasted pork shop which is nearby Happy Garden, OUG do sell the super crispy roasted pork in KL.

The crispiness can be said as good as the Meng Kee's roasted pork but the price is slightly cheaper. Still the same, it melts in my mouth once I put it in. Taste is extremely is good! Seeriously, I got no idea why the KL people can roast such a crispy skin.

If Penang is famous with char kuey teow, laksa and hokkien mee while Ipoh is famous with the chicken and tau fu fa. I personally think that KL must be famous with their roasted pork. =)

Capon . The Best Chicken I Ever Tasted

Have you ever taste Capon? To me, it's the best chicken dish I ever tasted!

I only tasted it once during CNY with my uncle. In chinese words, they call this 阉鸡 (Capon). I don't really know what's the different between normal chicken and capon until but it's definitely taste better. They tend to have more tender, flavorful flesh as well as a higher fat content.

After doing some research through the internet, I just know that a capon is a rooster that has been castrated to improve the quality of its flesh for food. the process of turniing a rooster into a capon is known as 'caponication'.

Caponication happens between 6 and 20 weeks of age, depending on the producer and the chicken breed. Heritage chicken producers remove the testes of the cockerel surgically.

As a result of caponization, a capon becomes much more mellow, losing the aggression commonly associated with roosters. This makes capons easier to handle and also changes the way in which their meat matures. Capons have more tender, fatty flesh because they are not as active as roostes are. The also tend to taste less gamy, because they do not develop sex hormones, which can impact the flavor of the flesh.

In the kitchen, roast capon is moist, flavorful and very tender since the flesh starts out tender and the higher fat content acts as natural basting agent. A high quality capon has a dramatically different flavor than traditional roast chicken.

Unfortunately, the industrialization of meat production has made capons rare. Chicken breeds raised for meat are engineered to mature quickly, so that they can be sent to market in as little as five weeks. This rapid development has an impact on overall flavor and quality of the meat which most consumers are not even aware of because they have never tasted more naturally raised meat.

Oh... I just miss the taste of Capon again................ ><

甜品哥哥 DESSERT GO GO

I'm a all time dessert lover! Dessert is happy food. It's spelled 'stressed' backwards after all. To release my 'stressed', dessert is always the first food which come across my mind to make myself happy.

I like to hunt for my dessert in this Hong Kong style dessert outlet which is called 甜品哥哥. It has so many different kind of dessert. From pudding to Syrup. I assume you can find one of your favorite desserts over here.

Here's one of the famous dessert in 甜品哥哥. DURIAN PANCAKE!!!

Inside the pancake is filled with cream and durian. yes, it's filled with real durian. So once you bite it, you can taste the durian inside your mouth.

Perhaps, they are not just putting a small piece of durian inside the pancake. Look at it, IT'S A BIG AMOUNT OF DURIAN inside of it ><'''' If you like to eat durian, for sure you are gonna like this dessert, too!

Another favorite dessert of mine, Mango Chee Cheong Fun.

炖蛋 ( I don't really the name of this dessert in English =.=''' )

This is the first time I tried Fresh hot milk with egg, it's looks a bit weird before taste it because I got no idea how's the taste... egg plus milk... hmmm....

Surprisingly, the taste of this drink is GOOD! While drinking it, you can slightly taste the egg in the milk. But both of the taste can blend together pretty well.

Seems like my sister very enjoying it... hehe...

The right choice of dessert can make for the right kind of mood. Chocolate and strawberries can be aphrodisiacs, ice-cream makes anyone happy and comforted. That's why I love dessert!!! ^^

Strawberry Moment

I've been to a cafe called Strawberry Moment few times in Ipoh and it never disappointed me before. Everything is about strawberry in this cafe. Strawberry cake, strawberry drinks, strawberry dessert... It only has 2 branches in Malaysia. One in Cameron and another one in Ipoh.

Each of the desserts is made with strawberry...

Strawberry coffee, with the taste of white coffee and you can slightly taste the smell of strawberry into it... not bad!!!

I would like to rate this cafe with 5 stars. They provided a good service to their customer. I accidentally dropped my glass of juice and the waiter there change me another new one immediately without my request. ^^ This is just so impressed me...
